Joe Zeff is President/Chief Creative Officer of Scrollmotion Blue.
Joe oversees the creative side of our agency. He previously held leadership roles as Graphics Director of Time magazine, Presentation Editor of The New York Times and VP/Executive Creative Director at Scrollmotion. For 14 years he ran his own company, Joe Zeff Design, an influential design and development firm that continues to win awards for its iPad and iPhone apps.
Joe has been singled out by The Guardian as "one of America's top app designers" and by Walter Isaacson, author of Steve Jobs' biography, as "one of the most creative and insightful designers of our era." Apple has chosen four of his iPad apps as App of the Week and one for its iTunes Hall of Fame. Other accomplishments: launching Fast Company for iPad and National Geographic for iPhone, designing JPMorgan Chase & Co's first annual report for the iPad, and creating the official Super Bowl XLVIII app for the National Football League.
His graphic design work has won significant attention, having designed or illustrated hundreds of major magazine covers for Time, Sports Illustrated, Esquire, Fortune and others. His company created album artwork for Jay Z, Kanye West and Ludacris; branding for PepsiCo and Unisys Corporation; and Broadway artwork for the show Sister Act. His typography work is showcased in Lynda.com coursework and has been promoted by the Type Directors Club. He previously sat on the board of directors of the Society of Publication Designers and directed its speaker series.
